when two become one
When Lynda Thomas wrote to me to tell me about the massive project she’d undertaken on the Essex coast, combining two Victorian semi-detached houses into one home, I was more than a little intrigued. And when she sent me some snaps of her finished home, I didn’t waste any time in arranging a photo shoot…
The house looks as though it should have always been one handsome detached villa, with a grand entrance, perfect symmetry, and a sweeping staircase inside rising from a central hall and leading to a galleried landing from which all the bedrooms can be accessed. Lynda and her husband Peter have done a brilliant job with the building, celebrating its architecture while making it the home they’d always dreamed of; and the interior decor lives up to the quality of the design and workmanship. It was a pleasure to style and an incredibly interesting project to write about.
