field of dreams
Drinking in the stunning landscape that surrounds this one-bedroom converted barn, it’s easy to be swept away by the romantic isolation, with the sounds of the ducks quacking, the sheep bleating and the pigs crunching on apples the closest you’ll get to noise pollution. My visit to the Devonshire countryside to style and shoot the ideas-packed cottage with photographer Brent Darby 10 years ago definitely inspired me to spend more time exploring and appreciating our beautiful countryside…
And the imaginative interior certainly proves that small does not have to be dull, and in fact offers the opportunity to use unusual ideas and approaches to design some quirky open-plan spaces with a timeless feel… A decade on, this eclectic cottage looks anything but dated.
